Fight the Rollback of Net Neutrality Protections

On December 14th, 2017 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted to reverse 2015 regulations established to protect net neutrality. Net neutrality lets all users have equal access to all internet content and prevents internet service providers (ISPs) from discriminating against content, such as charging extra for high-speed access to specific websites or blocking access to certain sites altogether. Everyone benefits from net neutrality, and the FCC's rollback of net neutrality protections should be a cause for alarm on both sides of the aisle.

Fortunately, Congress has the opportunity to undo this misguided action through something called the Congressional Review Act. The CRA allows Congress to reverse regulatory actions within 60 legislative days of their enactment. Congress must act quickly to reverse the FCC's decision and preserve a free and open internet for all.

17 State Attorneys General have also launched a legal challenge of the FCC decision. These include CA, DE, HI, IL, IA, KY, ME, MD, MA, MS, NY, NC, OR, PA, VT, VA, and WA.
