State Leaders: Support MN and Demand No ICE in Your State
Since early January, Minneapolis, Minnesota, has been subjected to the occupation of thousands of paramilitary Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who have terrorized, maimed, and murdered Minneapolis residents. Though much of the Minneapolis community has banded together to protect their neighbors and exercise their First Amendment rights, their peaceful protests have been met with violence and unconstitutional behavior from federal agents. The use of excessive force, racial profiling, shootings, and the invasion of schools and places of worship are becoming more frequent events, as local officials work to subdue the force and refute the lies of the federal government.
Many cities across the U.S. are seeing similar surges in ICE operations, an especially troubling fact given ICE’s expansion of hiring and the diminishing standards for recruiting and training ICE agents, along with the Trump administration’s refusal to investigate the murders in Minneapolis.
The atrocities committed in Minneapolis cannot be ignored or absolved, or they will be repeated. Demand that your governor and state representatives support the people of Minnesota and take measures to prevent an ICE occupation in your state.
