Check your work (and vote!)

Already voted by mail?

You’re not done yet! Most states let you track your ballot online or sign up for text/email alerts. If ballot tracking is available to you, take a few minutes to confirm that yours was received and counted. If there is a problem, like a missing signature, your state may let you fix it, but only for a limited time. Catching it now gives you time to act!

Still need to return your mail ballot?

What are you waiting for?! Due to recent changes, the USPS may not postmark your ballot the day it’s received, so from here on out (after October 27th) we strongly encourage you to deliver your ballot to an approved drop box, local election office, or voting site if possible!

Planning to vote in-person?

If Early Voting is still happening in your state, get yourself to the polls now if you can! Some states don’t have early voting through Election Day. Life happens, and you wouldn’t want an unexpected illness or emergency to keep you from casting a ballot. And remember to double-check the hours for your Early Voting location before you head out, since they can change.

If you can’t vote early, try to get to the polls early on Tuesday, November 3rd. Confirm your polling place, make sure you have the required ID (if needed), and block off the time on your calendar.

Ballots get rejected for fixable things, if you catch them in time.

Only 27 states allow ballots to be cured after Election Day.
5 states had the highest percentage of rejected mail-in ballots in 2024: Arkansas, Delaware, Oklahoma, Texas, Kentucky. States with the lowest: Indiana, Maine, Vermont, Kansas, Maryland.
40.7% of rejected mail-in ballots in 2024 were rejected due to signature mismatching, making it the most common reason.
