Oppose Attack on Georgia’s Midterm Elections
The proposed bill H.B. 960 would require a transition to preprinted hand marked paper ballots before the November midterm elections, creating chaos in an important election year. It would also impose civil fines on counties if they fail to remove challenged voters, require hand recounts for federal contests and certain state races, expand the authority of the State Election Board, and further disempower the Secretary of State.
The current text of this bill was copied from another bill that failed to pass its legislative chamber of origin before Crossover Day. This practice of resurrecting “bad bills” by re-writing them over good bills is a disgraceful political tactic used to push through legislation that is unpopular.
