Oppose Removal of Teacher Contract Hours in Indiana - VOTE THIS WEEK

H.B. 1004 is an education deregulation bill that would remove the number of hours per day that teachers are expected to work from their contract.

Under the current contract, school principals or superintendents can’t require teachers to arrive at school before their contract hours or stay later than their specified contract hours. By removing these work hours from the contract, administrators can increase staff hours without paying them for the additional hours worked. Previous court cases have already sided with teachers on this issue.

Tell your Senator that Hoosier teachers deserve to know their work hours and deserve to be paid for additional work.
