Oppose Deadly Restrictions on Reproductive Rights

Governor Greg Abbott has called a second special session of the Texas legislature and has included new anti-abortion restrictions on the agenda. Abortion is already banned in Texas in almost all cases, with no exceptions for rape, incest, or fetal anomaly. These bans have led to increased maternal deaths, higher rates of sepsis, and worse health outcomes for Texans.

The special session includes bills such as S.B. 7 which would subject distributors of abortion pills to civil lawsuits, continuing Texas’ use of vigilante-style civil enforcement to restrict reproductive rights. While S.B. 7 is currently being considered by the Senate, both chambers are considering other bills that would further restrict abortion and penalize patients and providers.

By considering these additional restrictions, the Texas legislature is doubling down on policies that harm Texans, rather than addressing urgent needs like flood relief, affordable health care, and quality public schools.

Texans deserve a government that prioritizes care over control, and we must demand that abortion restrictions be taken off the table.

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP].

I’m calling to demand that [REP/SEN NAME] oppose S.B. 7 and any other attempts to further restrict abortion access and reproductive healthcare in Texas. Texans are already facing some of the most extreme abortion bans in the country, and these restrictions have worsened health outcomes and endangered lives.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
