Stop the Texas THC Ban

The Texas House is considering H.B. 6, a broad ban of hemp products containing cannabinoids, including all variants of THC. The Senate companion bill, S.B. 6, has already passed. Both bills would ban edibles, tinctures, and other consumables. If the House passes H.B. 6, the bill would need a signature from Governor Greg Abbott, who vetoed a ban bill passed earlier this year.

The legalization of hemp-based products is a bipartisan issue in Texas, with 79% of Texans supporting regulated access to hemp-derived THC products. The legislature should focus on sensible regulations of the hemp industry, like age minimums, ID mandates, child-safe packaging, and quality testing. But H.B. 6 would ban everything except CBD and CBG, and make criminals out of veterans, farmers and hard working Texans that are looking for relief with these products. A ban might cost Texas 50,000 jobs and $8 billion in annual tax revenue.

Texans deserve safe, legal, and regulated access to hemp THC. The House must hear from us now. Tell your Representative to vote NO on H.B. 6.

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP].

I’m calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME] to oppose H.B. 6, which bans hemp-derived THC products. This bill will devastate small businesses, eliminate jobs, and ignore the will of Texans—nearly 80% support regulated access. Please vote NO on H.B. 6 and support regulation, not prohibition.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
