CALL BACK: Oppose Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services (Confirmed)

UPDATE (02/13/25): By a vote of 52 to 48, the Senate has confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. All Democrats and Independents, along with former Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) opposed his nomination. Call your Senator and express your outrage of this confirmation.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the United States’ principal federal health agency and the world’s largest public health agency. Programs and organizations administered through HHS include Medicare, Medicaid, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). HHS plays an essential role in protecting the health and wellbeing of Americans and advancing crucial health research.

It is difficult to imagine a more dangerous choice for HHS Secretary than Donald Trump’s pick, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a politician with no scientific background. Kennedy is a notorious opponent of life-saving vaccinations and has widely promoted unproven and outright dangerous “health” products. Furthermore, Kennedy has threatened to gut staffing of essential entities like the FDA and NIH. Thousands of doctors and the American Public Health Association (APHA) have vocally opposed Kennedy’s nomination, recognizing the significant threat he poses to public health and global health.

Vaccine skepticism and other anti-science conspiracy theories are deadly. As HHS Secretary, Kennedy would do untold damage to our health care and public health infrastructure, to the detriment of millions of Americans.
