UPDATE (03/07/25): After agreeing to a 30-day reprieve on some goods from Mexico and Canada, less than 24 hours later Trump has again changed his mind. He is now threatening Canada with up to 250% tariffs on dairy and lumber imports.
UPDATE (03/06/25): The Trump administration has given Mexico another 30-day reprieve from the new 25% tariffs on imports. They also granted a narrow reprieve for automotive imports. Both of these new tariffs are now set to go into effect on April 2nd. Trump’s chaotic attempt at a trade war is causing instability and turmoil in our economy.
UPDATE (03/04/25): After a 30-day reprieve, the Trump administration has levied a 25% tariff on our number one (Canada) and number two (Mexico) trading partners. The administration has also added an additional 10% tariff on Chinese imports to the existing tariff imposed on China 30 days ago. Canada and China have already imposed retaliatory tariffs, with Mexico promising to follow suit shortly. These sweeping tariffs will soon affect everyday Americans, increasing the prices of a wide range of consumer goods, from groceries to electronics to cars.
UPDATE (02/03/25): Trump has backed down from imposing the planned 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada for 30 days after both countries agreed to enhance border security measures.
Donald Trump has imposed tariffs of 25% on Mexico and Canada and 10% on China. These tariffs are a hidden tax for working families, driving up prices on essential goods like food, cars, and clothing. Even Trump himself admits these taxes will hurt Americans. And the damage doesn’t stop there—Canada and Mexico are retaliating with their own tariffs.
Trump’s tariffs will disrupt supply chains, raise costs for businesses, and put hundreds of thousands of jobs at risk. Both Republicans and Democrats in Congress are alarmed about how this will affect jobs and prices, but Trump doesn’t care—he’s only looking out for himself and his billionaire buddies.
Instead of following the usual legal process, Trump is abusing emergency powers (IEEPA) to force these tariffs through without oversight—a power grab that bypasses Congress. No president should have the power to single-handedly disrupt the U.S. economy. We must demand that Congress step in and stop this dangerous overreach.

I’m calling [REP/SEN NAME] because I’m outraged that Trump’s tariffs will make food, gas, and other essentials more expensive for American families like mine. These tariffs will disrupt supply chains, raise costs for businesses, and put hundreds of thousands of jobs at risk. Even Trump himself admitted these tariffs will hurt us.
I ask that [REP/SEN NAME] speak out against these tariffs and demand accountability before more damage is done.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
