Oppose Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence - Senate Hearings on 1/30

Shortly after the 2024 election, Trump quickly nominated Tulsi Gabbard to lead the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). The DNI heads the IC’s 18 intelligence agencies, overseeing our National Intelligence Program and serving as principal advisor to the President on matters related to national security. The position requires access to the most sensitive information in the IC along with knowledge of our most protected sources and methods of intelligence gathering.

However, Gabbard, a former Congresswoman from Hawaii, has a checkered past and a history of siding with totalitarian regimes. In 2017, she was widely criticized for secretly meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, showing support for his remaining in power, and questioning victims of his war crimes. Even more concerning, she has been sympathetic to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. She has often parroted the Kremlin’s propaganda, becoming a favorite of Putin’s vast state media apparatus. Her behavior has lead some lawmakers, such as Iraq war veteran Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Il), to believe Gabbard has been compromised by Russia.

Given Gabbard’s controversial past and questionable allegiance to the United States, she is a disastrous choice to lead the U.S. Intelligence Community. Demand your Senators reject her dangerous nomination.
