Impeach OMB Director Russell Vought

Russell Vought has used his position as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to undermine our constitutional system of checks and balances, weaken the independence of federal agencies, and threaten programs that millions of Americans rely on. He has terminated tens of thousands of federal workers, defunded the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and frozen more than $810 million in congressionally appropriated funds for anti-poverty services. Last year, he dismantled USAID, a move that caused hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths and painfully illustrated the human cost of his extremist agenda.

Vought, a proud Christian nationalist, has also openly embraced alarming fringe views about presidential power. He has argued that we are living in a “post-constitutional moment” and illegally withheld funding already approved by Congress for disbursement. A key architect of Project 2025, Vought has explicitly called for using executive power to “bend or break the bureaucracy to the presidential will.". In fact, Vought is now seeking to grant Trump and his lackeys absolute authority to cancel any federal funding that conflicts with their political agenda.

Russell Vought’s extremist ideologies, obstruction of disbursement of congressionally approved funding, and general disregard for the separation of powers make him unfit to serve as chief of the OMB. Congress must hold him accountable and begin impeachment proceedings to remove him from office.
